Hotel Roma
What city has fado as a song, tejo as a poem and tiles as a backdrop? Everyone knows the answer. Join us on this city break itinerary and learn how to make the most of a day in the city of the hills.
Sunrise at the Santa Luzia Viewpoint
When we pass the train tracks and the Tagus welcomes us surrounded by a balcony with magnificent tile panels, we know that we are at the Miradouro de Santa Luzia. From here we can see the sun rise through the mazes of the Alfama streets, illuminating the water feature that make up this space. A poetic dawn that leaves us, simultaneously, a sensation of freshness and nostalgia.

Breakfast sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon
After contemplating a magnificent view of Lisbon, there is nothing like tasting its gastronomic delights. Because the a great day is when we sit down and enjoy a traditional custard tart, our second stop is at the Manteigaria, at the Largo do Camões. In this small and popular spot we can find what are considered by many to be the best pastéis de nata in Lisbon !

Morning walk along the Tagus
What better way is there to feel the river breeze than on a bike ride? We meet at Cais do Sodré, where the Tagus is already waiting to ride along with us in the morning. Along the way we come across museums such as the National Museum of Ancient Art, the Museu do Oriente and the MAAT. Upon arrival in Belém, we are invited to stroll through the gardens and admire imposing monuments, such as the Jerónimos Monastery, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos and the Torre de Belém.

1001 ways to eat cod for lunch
Traditional or with a modern twist, flaked, with cream and spinach, grilled or in fritters, portuguese cod is full of flavor and, preferably, drizzled with a little olive oil. Served as an aperitif or in elaborate meals, this menu star takes the Lisbon experience to a whole new level. There are many ways to cook it and the restaurants where you can taste it are even more. Here are some suggestions: the Clube do Bacalhau in Cais do Sodré, the Solar do Bacalhau in Rossio, the Laurentina - O Rei do Bacalhau at Conde Valbom Avenue or at Casa do Bacalhau in Beato.

Visit the most modern neighborhood in the capital
Here you can find one of the most beautiful aquariums in Europe, the Oceanario de Lisboa! From an "underwater tour" where you can discover 500 species that live here to a visit to the science themed museum Pavilhão do Conhecimento, at Parque das Nações we always find appealing family programs. We can enjoy the view over the Tagus in a quiet and panoramic ride aboard the cable car, admire the architecture of the Portugal Pavilion, designed by Siza Vieira, or enjoy nature at Jardim das Ondas.

Afternoon at the theater
Theater, dance or music? The Maria Matos Theater, in Alvalade, offers a wide range of cultural proposals with a program designed for children, teens and adults. Built in honor of the prestigious Portuguese actress Maria Matos, this theater was inaugurated in October 1969 and, to this day, continues to win over locals and tourists. With a pop opera concert or a comedy show, in this spot we can find all the ingredients for a well spent afternoon.

Taste the gastronomy and wines of Portugal
The day is over, but it is not complete without trying some more typical flavors of the Portuguese cuisine. Friendly and welcoming, the Fiesta Restaurant at our Hotel Roma is the perfect choice to introduce us to a perfect dinner. Next, we have an appointment with the sommelier of the Roma Winebar to taste a great glass of wine, with a selection of more than 150 national wines. Toast with us at nightfall!

Relax in a classic bar until the late hours of the night
It is not just a bar, it is a meeting point that has united generations for more than 55 years. A Primorosa d'Alvalade We're easily attracted to an aperitif or cocktail with the sound of live music, with bands like Kika & d'Bad Seats, Back Up and resident DJ Jay Lion. Considered by many to be one of the most chic nightclubs in the neighbourhood, this time capsule that takes us back to 1966, gives us a unique architectural experience, and is worth a stop! Whether we're playing pool, dancing a bit, or just chatting, one thing's for sure: there's no leaving until we hear My Way, with the voice of Frank Sinatra.
Now that we have walked through some of the most emblematic places in Lisbon and tasted the best that the city has to offer, we invite you to climb the seven hills and discover Lisbon. Are you ready to discover five of the most searched viewpoints in the capital?
